This movie is the story of Wyatt Earp’s life. The movie starts with a young Wyatt Earp (Kevin Kostner) moving west after his brothers return from the Civil War. Next, he is happily married when his wife dies from Smallpox. After she dies, he hits rock bottom and resorts to horse thievery, a capital offense. His father tells him to get out of town and never come back. After a few years, you see Wyatt now a professional buffalo hunter. He hires two skinners, Ed and Bat Masterson (Bill Pullman, Tom Sizemore). The movie then moves onto his career as a lawman where he earns his good reputation. He moves to Dodge City where the Masterson brothers are his deputies. It is also here that he becomes romantic with prostitute, Mattie Blaylock (Mare Winningham). During his law years he is also introduced Doc Holliday (Dennis Quaid). He then leaves for Tombstone with his brothers and the famous Gun Fight at the OK Corral ensues. While in Tombstone he falls in love with actress Josie Marcus (Joanna Going). The movie wraps up with an older Wyatt and his wife Josie living in Alaska during the gold rush.
