Email Address HELP!
If you change you email address, or any of your contact
information, would you please put us on your notification list? Email addresses get changed frequently enough so
that our email address list is not very effective from one season to
another without your help. Thanks!

NEW IN 2008
Weekend Program now 9 weeks long
It has come to our attention that there has been a
rather dramatic increase in spring time sports activities in which so
many of today's Powderpigs are involved. As a result of numerous
energetic discussions with both parents and instructors regarding the
impact of this chapter in our Powderpigs' lives, we have decided to give a 9 week season a try
in the weekend programs. After
careful consideration, we feel this will still give our students enough
learning and directed practice time for good learning to take place and
help reduce the conflicts between the last days of lessons and the
beginning days of those springtime sports activities. Your feedback on this
experiment will be very welcome.
New Powderpig Parkas
This year we have a wonderful new Powderpig parka.
It is being made by O'Neill, a well known name in sports wear.
At the very end of the season last year, one of our parents, an old
Powderpig student herself, suggested we take a look at what O'Neill had
to offer in the way of kid's parkas. We did and were delighted
with what we found. Turns out Kathleen Mc Vey is Senior Designer
for Mc Neill and between her Powderpig experiences and her expertise
with sportswear design, she knew just what we needed. This year
our Powderpigs will be very ready for whatever weather adventures Mother
Nature has in store for us.
Most of you are aware that we ask that each of our
students wear a red parka with a Powderpig patch
over the "traditional" hear during lessons. For those of you who
have questions about this, please email Nancy at <thinksnow@powderpigs.com>.
Parka cost: $75. We have graduated to a beautifully made, full blown winter
parka designed specifically for skiing and snowboarding. If you
have already sent in your Powderpig's registration page and would like
to order a parka - just send us a note with your check and your child's
name. We will send you a "pick 'em up" card which you can then
swap for the parka at your nearest Alpine Hut.
According to O'Neil, the parkas will be here by
the end of November. We will post the "parkas have arrived at
Alpine Hut" news under "Parka News" on the main menu of our web site as
soon as we have a concrete delivery date.
Powderpig Instructors
A number of you have indicated an interest in
becoming Powderpig instructors next year and if you are one of them,
just email us at <thinksnow@powderpigs.com>.
Although the Dry Land Clinics have begun, it is never too late to join
us.
We are ALWAYS looking for more good instructors
- to replace those fine young people who go away to college or to the
rest of their lives - and we have found that Powderpig parents make
wonderful instructors! There are some concrete "bennies" that go
with teaching - like the Instructor Pass and the Instructor Discount on
your Powderpig's tuition - among others. If this sounds like it might interest
you, just email Nancy (see link at bottom of this page).
There are other ways for interested parents to
participate - and we are in the process of making a list which we will
post later on. If any of this sounds like it might be of interest -
email Nancy!
From now on, all "breaking" news will be posted
under its own button "Latest News" on the main menu. More news to
come soon.
If you have questions, just email us at <thinksnow@powderpigs.com>
