Hi Powderpigs Instructors, one and all!
Well, the summer wildflowers have faded and even the late summer wildflowers have shut down for the season. The lovely bright fall colors are beginning to show along the tree lines all over the slopes and it is definitely fall up here on your mountain. It is time to begin to think skiing and snowboarding. The freezing levels are getting lower and lower and at night it gets pretty nippy. Exciting!
The good news from the mountain is that there is a new chair lift over at Hyak opening up some fine terrain.
And, the really good news is in the picture below. Do any of you recognize what you are looking at? It is where the ˝ pipe that took over what we old timers called Bonanza was for the last years! It is all gone and it looks like we just might get one of the best runs back here at Central. Annelise and some friends were up hiking to the top and discovered this lovely, exciting news. Here is a picture of this miracle. For those of you who have never skied the Face of Bonanza, you may have a real first time treat in store for this winter. Those of you who remember Bonanza Face with fondness – wheeeee!
The first instructor meeting will be held at the Mercer Island Community Center on Oct. 15. The meeting will begin at 7 PM and end at 9. All instructors are welcome and we encourage you to join us. See below for more details of the schedule.
We have a number of changes this year and those will be announced and discussed at this meeting. It will be good to see you all.
Instructor registration is now open! Please register online (click the words register online to get to it) as soon as possible. This, so we know to whom to send instructor messages and the applications for the instructor pass.
INSTRUCTOR TRAINING PROGRAM SCHEDULE

Every year we ask the same thing- please tell your friends, family & co-workers about teaching at Powderpigs! If they enjoy working with kids, we want to hear from them! We are seeking full charge ski instructors and also ski assistants for the 2015 season. (Our snowboard program is small, so the number of snowboard instructor positions is very limited, whereas our ski program is large and IS hiring!) Some great ways to help recruit new instructors include:
