REMEMBER YOUR SEASON PASS!

Greetings Powderpig Instructors,  Here's the news for 2-1-12

Well, we had a very busy weekend this last weekend and we had snow and then monsoons on Sunday.  In spite of the Sunday monsoon, all our itty bitties have fledged out of the PIT and up the chair, and Matt G. reported no lift lines on Sunday afternoon and he and his class skied "top to bottoms" from one end of the area to the other - pretty well all afternoon long! On Monday evening snow returned to our mountain and now the clouds are breaking up so we have a beautiful moon and some bright stars in the evening sky this Wednesday evening.   The forecast is for clear skies and sunshine over the weekend which is really welcome news - so at this time all programs are GO!  for the 4th Friday evening of lessons and the 5th week of lessons for Saturday and Sunday.    Please check the the message phone on Friday afternoon at about 4:30 (or later) for any late breaking news.  We will announce any schedule changes on the Powderpig message phone as soon as we have enough information to make them, if necessary.  Last minute changes will be announced on the Pig Phone - 425 - 392- 7277 - so if, on the way up, things get to looking "a bit much" - just call the ski school number 425 392 7277 from your cell phone.

COME PREPARED!  Remember to bring your lunches and what you want to drink!  You will need plenty of fuel to keep you going on this forth and probably very snowy weekend of lessons!!

COME PREPARED FOR ALL KINDS OF WEATHER.  Including sun screen!   Layers are best!  Rain gear will NOT  be appropriate, because we have a solid forecast for "freezing levels" (which means no rain or snow) for this coming weekend's forecasts.  So, we are good to go.  If your parka is not waterproof, now is the time to do something about it. One of our instructors after being drenched by floppy snowflakes, rediscovered Scotch Guard, if your parka is not gortex or gortex-type fabric.   REI is a good resource for waterproofing ideas.  A good layer of fleece or wool is another good idea for insulating you from the snowflakes that melt on you.  :0 )

REMEMBER YOUR SEASON PASS – we no longer have comp tickets to share with those who forget their Pass.   The Area cut back on all comp tickets last year – they simply no longer exist!  Just another little sign that our economy has been challenging in the last few years.  The Area is doing its level best to make it through these challenging times and we want them to.  Another area owner we do not need!

THE POWDERPIG SATURDAY NIGHT DINNER CLUB HAS RESUMED ITS ACTIVITIES FOR THE 2012 SEASON -

This forth Saturday night feast's theme will be PIZZA NIGHT! So, bring your favorite PIZZA or maybe a salad.  So, bring your favorite pizza (dessert, is good too).  to share on this tasty and fun meal.  Looking forward to seeing you for the traditional Saturday Night Git Down, Grit Down!

Dinner will be served sometime between 6:30 and 7 PM barring any complications to our culinary preparations -

See you all then if not before!

IMPORTANT PARKING REGULATIONS:  The Area has asked us to ask our staff members to park down at the Ski Patrol end of the parking lot - and leave the spots closer to the Pigpen for our students and their families.  Anyone intending to park overnight must come talk to Nancy or Townley.  Do not just park anywhere that looks good - you could end up being towed!  Do not screw with the Area!!  If we have a heavy snowfall during the day - be sure to take an evening stroll and remove the snow from your vehicle – or they might think it was abandoned and it could well be towed if there are 8 or more inches on it. (I’m quoting them, here)  The parking lot belongs to the Area and they are the ones who get to call the  parking lot shots and the tow trucks.  Be forewarned!!  Thanks!

REMEMBER!   Do not leave anything in your vehicle you would like to  be able to take home with you at the end of the day.

Remember!  Before you pack up and head for the mountain, be sure to check the Powderpig message phone to see if there are any changes in our schedule.

If you have questions, just send them right to me – thinksnow@powderpigs.com

And that is the news - as of Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012.

See you all soon!
